We
threw on our packs and set out from our home in Naugatuck CT. for a backpacking
trip to the Adirondacks. It was the morning of July 21,2000 the ride would
take 4-5 hours, the experiences will last a lifetime.
Turning
in off route 73 this road leads to the Adirondack
Loj and offers the first real views of what lays ahead. This beautiful
field seems to be a favorite place to stop get out and stretch reflect on
the ride there, clear your head gaze at the mountains in front of you and
prepare for the adventures which lies in front of you.
Marcy
Dam-the first destination out of the
Loj also a very popular basecamp and
jump off point for an assault on Marcy.
A
view from Indian Falls-
We believe the mountains to be Phelps on the
left and Table Top on the right.
A
pair of views from Phelps Trail on our way
to Marcy. I think we were just about on
Little Marcy where the canopy finally opens up and prevails how far
up you've traveled and surrenders its views.
